FC Dallas plans to renovate part of its stadium complex in Frisco.
Frisco-based Major League Soccer club FC Dallas announced Friday it has awarded a project that will renovate multiple synthetic turf fields at the stadium's complex to Paragon Sports Constructors.
The FC Dallas Stadium Complex includes 17 tournament-grade fields adjacent to FC Dallas Stadium. Three of those fields are synthetic turf, while the remaining are natural grass.
In a four-year agreement, Fort Worth-based Paragon Sports Constructors will remove the current turf, excavate the drainage system and reconstruct the stone base before installing new synthetic turf. The company will become FC Dallas' exclusive synthetic turf construction partner.
FC Dallas chose the firm because of its reputation in the area and its ability to provide soccer-specific turf, said Tom Jones, vice president for complex management at the stadium.
The work has begun on Field 3, which will include branded logos of Paragon Sports Constructors. The field is expected to be completed for the Dallas Cup qualifier March 24-31.
The stadium and complex is used about 350 days per year, averaging more than 1.3 million visitors annually from Major League Soccer games and tournaments.
