The U.S. Postal Service in New Mexico is hiring for various positions in the state.
According to an Associated Press report, postal officials said many long-time employees are expected to retire, opening the door to accept applications for positions at some mail facilities across the state.
The open positions are being described as transitional and postal support positions. None offer benefits, but some have the potential of turning into permanent positions.
The pay range is from from $12.38 to $16 per hour, according to the report.

The agency reported an annual loss of a record $15.9 billion Nov. 15, ending a rocky year that saw a forced default, for the first time, on billions in payments to avert bankruptcy.
The financial losses for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30 compared to a $5.1 billion loss in the previous year.
